Nesma & Partners awarded Central Utility Plant Project at King Abdulaziz University for Sciences & Technology, Rabigh
Nesma & Partners has been awarded a contract by Saudi Aramco for the Design, Engineering, Procurement and Construction (IK-LSTK) of a Grass-root Central Utility Plant (CUP) associated with King Abdullah University for Science & Technology (KAUST) which is currently being built at the New King Abdullah Economic City at Rabigh. This is one of the major packages of KAUST Project and is the 2nd largest LSTK project awarded to Nesma & Partners by Saudi Aramco after the Shedgum-Yanbu NGL Pipeline Upgrade Project – Phase I.
The Grass root Central Utility Plant (CUP) comprised of three major components; a Sea Water Reverse Osmosis Potable Water Treatment Plant with capacity to produce a Peak Daily Consumption (PDC) of 32 ML/day, a Central Chiller Plant with the cooling capacity of approximately 45,000 tons and a Waste Water Treatment Plant with a peak hourly flow of approximately 38,000 m3 per day. The project is expected to be completed by February 2009.
