Emaar signs MoU for desalination plant in KAEC
SPA -- Emmar E.C.Emmar E.C., which is developing
King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) has signed a Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU) with SETE Energy Saudia for Industrial Projects Ltd.,
to set up a desalination plant on Engineering, Procurement and
Construction (EPC) basis, the Jeddah-based Saudi Gazette reported
today.
Dr. Abdulraouf Manna, the managing Director of Emaar E.C., and George
Antonopoulos, the CEO of SETE Energy Saudia, signed the MoU for the
70,000-cubic meters per day sea water reverse osmosis plant, which will
meet the needs of the first phase of KAEC the single largest private
sector-led development in the region.
The plant will take be completed in five stages with the first phase to
be implemented within a year. The rest of the phases will be completed in
21 months.The Plant will provide all the water requirements for the
industrial zone, residential communities and resorts upon completion.
Located on the Red Sea coast, KAEC has six key components: the seaport,
Industrial zone, central business district, resort district, educational
zone and residential communities.
