Norit Airlift MBR Technology on Palm Jumeirah
After the selection of its Seaguard membranes for the pre-treatment of
the seawater RO plants, Norit X-Flow is proud to announce that Norit
Airlift™ MBR technology will be used on the Palm Jumeirah Island in Dubai
as well. Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies Emirates received the
contract to upgrade the existing conventional wastewater treatment plant
to > 500 % of the original capacity, based on Norit’s MBR
technology.
When fully operational, this state-of the-art sewage treatment plant
will be the world's most modern Membrane BioReactor (MBR) plant, situated
on the world’s newest landmark Palm Jumeirah, developed by Nakheel.
The average wastewater generated on the crescent of the island is
estimated to be 17,000 m3/day. This wastewater will be treated and the
effluent will be used either for irrigation, or to serve as influent to
polishing plants to produce make-up water for the Crescent’s district
cooling system. This sewage treatment plant has a reduced footprint and
modular design, which lends itself to expansion as needed.
As regulations become stricter, municipalities and industries are
realizing that health, safety, performance and environmental protection
should be combined into one optimal solution.
Norit Airlift™ MBR is
the ultimate technology for the treatment of wastewater in a clean, safe
and reliable environment in a dry setup, with membranes located outside
the bioreactor.
X-Flow belongs to Norit ‘leading in purification’ and has expertise in
all water areas, from potable water production to treatment of process and
wastewater, as well as in the food & beverage and pharmaceutical
industries. X-Flow was one of the pioneers introducing ultra filtration
for potable water and wastewater re-use applications to the water market.
By winning this prestigious contract Norit X-Flow once again proves its
prominent position in the market.
